I've just joined the Dunfermline club and THOROUGHLY enjoy meeting everyone, having fellowship and fun with the team there.

I came along initially because my old work colleague, Jim Jefferies (ex-Hearts legend) was due to speak but he had a virus. Instead two OT students from Stirling University sopke about their sports and I was fascinated. Jim came the following week, so it was fantastic to catch up, as we were together several times after our first meeting.

Mike, Diane and Gary plus several volunteers are fabulous hosts and a delight to be with every week.

Thank you so much for this fantastic tribute to my Dad. He loved his time at Sporting Memories. It gave him out of the house on his own terms, spending time with lovely people and helping others, in cheery defiance of his own health problems. He always enjoyed his trips out with the groups and enjoyed his cuppa and morning rolls!

It was wonderful to link up with Andy again. Peter Berry (living with Alzheimer's) and I met Andy at a sporting memories talk in Sudbury in 2023 and we have retained that link. I will overlook the far from flattering photo of me on this occasion! What's worked really well about meeting Andy is that networks have developed in Suffolk and we are mutually supportive of each others' roles and objectives. Apart from Andy's dodgy choice of football teams, I see this relationship as being really positive!

Thank you for the kind words . When I retired from work I was in no doubt as to what I wanted to do. Largely due to norrie Gallagher. We met at daycare services when norrie came along and I got involved in group sessions which were great fun as well as getting people to tell us about their involvement in sport whatever that may be . I worked at meldrum house with John and Ian. Which was brilliant . I started my own group in church nearly 8years ago and it has been one of the best things in my life. We have a group of guys who genuinely care about each other . Whether you are 40 or little older whether you played sport or not it makes no difference to us and you can create more memories simply by coming along and having a good time.i want to families friends and guests who give up their time to think come along to our group .

I will never forget Big Danny's Dazzler against Dundee Utd at Firhill in January of 1966. Got a glossy photo from the Daily Express, showing him putting the ball in the net. Sent it to Firhill, and it was returned to me autographed and with a personal note from Dan. What an impact that makes on a young lad. Thanks Dan!
