Sporting Memories seeking Community Club Co-Ordinator in Leeds

We’re pleased to announce that the application process is now open for an exciting new role with us as a Sporting Memories Community Club Co-Ordinator in Leeds.

The new Community Club Co-Ordinator will see the chosen individual support our increasing work across Leeds, helping with our sessions held in local leisure centres and care settings. The role will facilitate inclusive group activities for older people that are both physically and mentally stimulating, including games combined with sporting reminiscence.

They will also connect with local referral and volunteer organisations in the community to help recruit volunteers and to facilitate beneficiary referrals into our Clubs and Sporting Memories sessions. 

Full training will also be provided for the chosen candidate.

  • 18 months fixed term contract
  • 21 to 28 hours per week (flexible and to be agreed with candidate)
  • FTE £23,755 
  • Leeds based – potential for working from John Charles Centre for Sport / flexible working from home 
  • Full training provided

Responsibilities

The Community Club Co-Ordinator role is the perfect opportunity for the chosen candidate to understand the role sport and physical activity can play in local communities, with a particular focus on supporting older people.

You will be helping to run fully accessible and inclusive group sessions that are fun, physically and mentally stimulating and include games as well as sporting reminiscence. Some of the key responsibilities of the role, but not exhaustive, will include:

  • Supporting activities within a weekly Sporting Memories Club within leisure centres and community venues including preparation and monitoring and evaluation reporting.
  • Supporting Sporting Memories Club members and volunteers through their wellbeing journey.
  • Connecting with referral partners and volunteering organisations in the Community.
  • Facilitating inclusive activities in other settings (e.g. day centres and care homes).
  • Working closely with community partners within the Sporting Memories Leeds funded project – Hamara, Active Leeds, Burmantofts Community Friends, Maecare and Leeds City Council venues.
