Calling all students! Support us through the BRIT Challenge 2023!

We’re delighted to be supporting by the British Inspiration Trust and their 2023 BRIT Challenge, which will see universities and colleges raising funds for charities across the United Kingdom, as one of their charity partners.

The annual BRIT Challenge is designed to be completed by individuals working as a team across universities and colleges to cover each year's distance (2023 will be 23,000 miles, 2,023 miles or a 23 hour challenge) by either hand-cycling, cycling, wheelchair pushing, swimming, walking, jogging, running, rowing or paddling (canoeing, kayaking or paddle-boarding).

The theme is "23" and there is flexibility for teams to set their target distance and for individuals to set their own target distances (for example; 23 miles over 23 days, 23 minutes of activity a day or 23 lengths of the pool).

Teams from across a range of education institutions in the UK have signed up to take on the challenge in their own unique way and raise funds for a wide range of charities including ourselves.

Phil Packer, Founder and Non-Paid CEO of the British Inspiration Trust, said: “I’m thrilled that we have have forged a special relationship with Sporting Memories and are once again one of our charity partners for 2023.

“I hope universities and colleges throughout the UK will choose Sporting Memories as their second charity and raise vital funds to enable them to continue their work to tackle dementia, depression and loneliness.

“BRIT are a collaborative charity and have designed the annual BRIT Challenge to be inclusive and enable student and staff of all abilities to take part. I hope that students and staff taking on the BRIT Challenge will engage with their local Sporting Memories Club and consider carrying out some of their team target distance with the thousands of Sporting Memories club members to help reduce feelings of isolation and have fun.”

We’d love for universities and colleges to take on the 2023 BRIT Challenge and raise funds for us here at Sporting Memories. If you’re part of a university or college that would be interested in supporting us, find out how to do so by clicking this link!
