Celebrating Five Years of our Chorley and Leyland clubs

At Sporting Memories, we regularly recognise significant milestones and achievements in a sporting context, but recently two of our clubs in Lancashire achieved a milestone of their own as they celebrated their fifth anniversaries.

In the summer of 2018, our Chorley and Leyland clubs first launched, with support locally from the Chorley FC in the Community and Lancashire FA respectively, to enable older people from the local community to enjoy a reminiscing about sport and to create a welcoming place for those living with dementia.

The Chorley club celebrated its fifth anniversary in May, while the Leyland club reached the milestone today (19 June).

Five years since their formation on and those groups and have continued to grow thanks to the support from all partners involved and the man who has led the clubs Keith McIntosh.

The Leyland club runs weekly on Mondays between 11am – 12:30pm every Monday at the County Ground in Leyland, whilst the Chorley session runs weekly on Wednesdays between 1:30pm – 3pm at Victory Park, the home of Chorley FC.
