Checking out our Ferndale session in Rhondda!
We have a number of thriving Sporting Memories Clubs in Wales, including our Club held at the Arts Factory in Ferndale, and they are encouraging older people in the local area to come along and give it a try.
Earlier in June, our Project Coordinator in Wales, Rob Baker, headed along to visit their weekly session held every Monday between 1-2pm.
During Rob’s visit the Club members were involved in a fun and busy session, with a number of activities taking place. Alongside the usual chat and friendly spirit, the members got stuck into a highly competitive picture quiz, before taking part in a sit down Zumba session to get everyone active!
Rob certainly enjoyed his visit to the Club based in the Rhondda and recommended anyone who is interested locally to give it a try. “It was great to pop along to the session at the Arts Factory and I could see from how well attended it was that it is popular with people in Ferndale.
“The session had a fun spirit to it and you can tell that the members have built friendships and camaraderie during their time at the Sporting Memories Club. It’s still open for new members to come along and you’ll be guaranteed a warm welcome, so why not give it a try!”
The club runs every Monday at The Arts Factory in Ferndale and is free to attend, with refreshments provided. To find out more about the Club, contact Rob via rob.baker@sportingmemories.uk
