New club launched in Llanelli thanks to Scarlets Rugby
In Wales, we’ve teamed up with another great rugby institution by launching a new club at the home of Scarlets Rugby.
Launching in May 2023, the club has held a number of weekly Sporting Memories sessions so far and has welcomed people from the local community who have a passion for rugby who are also looking for a regular group to socialise.
Scarlets started off the club with a tour of the Parc Y Scarlets stadium for their first ever session. And in recent weeks they have welcomed a number of famous faces to sessions including Head Coach Dwayne Peel and captain Jonathan Davies.
Launching the Sporting Memories club has also coincided with Scarlets celebrating the 150th anniversary of rugby in Llanelli and the club has been a valuable addition to the club’s community work.
Rob Baker, Project Coordinator for Sporting Memories Wales, was pleased that the club has got off to a great start at Scarlets.
“We’re really pleased to get the Sporting Memories club at Scarlets Rugby underway and see the impact that it has had in such a short space of time.
“Scarlets have really committed to the group and that has shown with the increase in numbers attending since it launched but also having some of the big names come along to experience the club for themselves.
