Teaming up for a special Christmas dinner!

It’s the season for sharing good will to all and this was certainly true of our Marden Club earlier this month as they were invited by Balfour Winery to enjoy a very special Christmas Dinner!

Our Marden Club members and volunteers were united with two other local community groups from across Kent thanks to the generous support of Richard and Leslie Balfour.

A Christmas Dinner and sing-a-long

With over 80 people from across three local community groups in attendance, there were no shortcomings on this festive feast, provided to those that travelled from Marden and beyond to the Balfour Winery in Staplehurst.

A full Christmas dinner with Turkey and all the trimmings was kindly provided to the lunch guests before they were presented with a Christmas pudding with Custard as desserts. The winery also offered a range of beautiful English wines to slowly wash the meal down with!

On an afternoon of community togetherness and spirit, it was only fitting that that afternoon finished with rousing renditions of some classic Christmas songs, with our Marden Club members and volunteers joyfully joining in to the group sing-a-long!

Reflections on a Christmas Treat

Sue Eltringham, one of the Club Facilitators of our Marden group, shared her thanks to Richard, Leslie and the Balfour Winery for a wonderful dinner.

“It was lovely to be invited to the special community Christmas dinner, and all of our members and volunteers in attendance were so grateful to be part of a wonderful afternoon.

“The food and drink was exceptional and it was topped off with an even better atmosphere with the other groups and staff from Balfour Winery joining us.

“A huge thank you to Balfour Winery for allowing us at Marden Sporting Memories to be part of a memorable afternoon.”
