Apprenticeships

Sporting Memories has sought to provide opportunities for young people to support our work through apprenticeship programmes designed to give those selected the opportunity to learn skills that they can take into the real world and gain an understanding of how to support older people in local communities.
We are always keen to support potential projects where apprentices may support our Clubs across the UK, so if you are interested in finding out more, please get in touch either contact@sportingmemories.uk
Essex Apprenticeship project
Across 2025 and 2026, we worked alongside a range of partners, including Sport for Confidence, Lifetime Training, Coach Core, Castle Point Borough Council, Freedom Leisure, Chelmsford City Council and Essex County Council, to run a project created a workforce development pathway for three young people across Essex through an apprenticeship programme.
Kelly Nicholls, Nick Greenslade and Tyra Perry, undertook their year-long apprenticeship alongside delivering Sporting Memories activities at our Clubs and several health and social care settings across Braintree, Canvey Island, Chelmsford and South Benfleet.
Nick Greenslade, who supports our Club based in Witham has since gone on to secure a full-time role with Freedom Leisure at the conclusion of his apprenticeship.
All three apprentices took great knowledge and experiences from their time with us which you can see in the video below.
