Apprenticeship opportunity opens in Witham

We are looking for an apprentice to support the Sporting Memories Club at Witham Leisure Centre in the role of Community Activator Coach, thanks to support from Sport England’s Pilot Fund.

The Community Activator Coach role is the perfect opportunity for the chosen candidate to understand the role of sport and physical activity for older, frailer people in the community.

The role will see the chosen candidate support fully accessible and inclusive group sessions that are physically and mentally stimulating at Witham Leisure Centre using engaging activities, games, sports and reminiscence topics, as well as, supporting similar activities in local care homes.

Working for Fusion Leisure, this role will also be part of a collaboration that also includes Sporting Memories, Coach Core UK, Sport for Confidence and Essex County Council.

The responsibilities of the chosen candidate will include delivering physical activities for older people at the Sporting Memories Club at Witham Leisure Centre as well as local care homes.

This is a great opportunity to understand more and work with older people in leisure centres and care settings, using inclusive games and physical activities alongside other social activities to help them improve their physical and mental wellbeing,
